WHO THE PROGRAM ADDRESSES
The open call is addressed to musicologists and artists interested in examining the philosophical grounds and consequences of music culture. Relevant practices may be scholarly, performative, compositional, sonic, ethnographic, archival, curatorial, digital, pedagogical, collaborative, community-based, site-responsive, interdisciplinary, or situated across multiple media. This range is indicative rather than exhaustive.
Projects may begin from a specific musical practice, community, archive, performance, collection, institution, technology, conceptual problem, or broader artistic-research trajectory. Participants should be prepared to present work in progress, engage closely with the work of others, revise their positions in response to discussion, and contribute to a collective research environment.
The programme does not require participants to arrive with a complete philosophy of music culture. Its purpose is to establish conditions under which philosophical positions can be articulated, tested, differentiated, and developed through research and practice. Intellectual curiosity, methodological self-reflection, ethical attentiveness, and commitment to sustained exchange are therefore as important as the current state of any individual project.
